About Scotforth
Scotforth Limited ("SFL") was incorporated in Year 2000 to commercialise the use of the Remote Sensing Direct Detection of Hydrocarbons technology ('RSDD-H') in international, onshore petroleum exploration.
Scotforth has surveyed in many basins, across all continents, both through sole risk research projects and through commercial surveys for clients. RSDD-H now forms the basis of our Direct Hydrocarbon Mapping (DHM) surveys.
The company is led by Peter Hutchison a petroleum geologist with 43 years international experience, both corporately and independently and by Dmitri Balabayev its satellite imaging expert who initiated RSDD-H research and development more than 25 years ago. These two principals have been working together since 1996 advancing the development of hydrocarbon-focused satellite surveying and its integration with conventional exploration practices. They apply this developed cutting edge know-how to produce unique petroleum prospectivity assessments and oil and gas investment opportunities.
Scotforth now holds a global petroleum prospect inventory in which many features are calibrated by nearby DHM observed and imaged proven field analogues. This "New Petroleum Resources" map of the world provides a multi-billion barrel Prospective Resource canvas for future exploration.
